Pro-Life Utah is 100% volunteer-powered, and it's growing!
We are looking for more volunteers! Listed below are the positions we are looking to fill.
If you are interested in a position, please reach out (contact info listed under each item). If you want to volunteer but aren’t sure which position is best for you, or you might want to do some combination of responsibilities, get in touch (deanna.holland@prolifeutah). We can most likely arrange the perfect situation that works for your skills, preferences, time, and ability.
Unless otherwise indicated, each role is currently 100% remote and can generally be done on your own time.

Government and Community Resource Coordinator:
Besides offering a wide array of assistance to abortion-minded women, Pro-Life Utah is also committed to helping these women in need identify all the aid available to them and access the resources she needs (e.g., educational resources, housing, healthcare, etc.). This coordinator will be responsible for studying, compiling, and deeply learning information about these government-funded and other community resources available to these new moms. This person will need to record a helpful list of resources as well as more detailed information about how to access them; this person should also be ready to work in coordination with the new mom support volunteers.
If interested, please contact Jeremy: jeremy.lamont@prolifeutah.org
Van Support Volunteer (2-5 volunteers needed):

This person will hold primary responsibility of our online merchandise shop (currently located at https://www.bonfire.com/store/pro-life-utah/). They will need to organize periodic online campaigns through Bonfire and in coordination with the social media team. Although this position only requires a minimal time commitment, this person will need to have good planning, communication, and self-management skills.
If interested, please contact Kassandra: kassandra.berger@prolifeutah.org

This is a position that would require you to be willing to take on less frequent projects (and would be easily integrated with another, if desired). This person will be creating brochure, flyers, and other important documents for print. They should have some experience in graphic design, document design, and, preferably, Adobe Creative Suite (or similar program) and marketing.
If interested, please contact Jessica: jessica.spackman@prolifeutah.org
Videographer:
We need a videographer who can commit to coming to our infrequent special events and helping us capture a professional, educational side of what we do. If possible, we may also ask them to film other informational videos. This videographer should have access to at least a basic professional video camera and have some experience filming professionally.
If interested, please contact Jessica: jessica.spackman@prolifeutah.org
Video Editor:
This video editor would help us create occasional special videos for YouTube to promote what we do and who we are; these videos may vary in length from under a minute to over 10 minutes. We also have more frequent, shorter videos we would like to put out that are more friendly to other social media platforms. These videos may be built out of audio from legislative sessions, video from our videographer, video from a cell phone, and images. This video editor may use nearly any video editing software they prefer, but they must be able to edit videos to at least a basic professional standard.
This position may be combined with the videographer position.
If interested, please contact Jessica: jessica.spackman@prolifeutah.org
Writing Team Coordinator:
This team leader will virtually manage a small team of writers. Their primary responsibilities will be scheduling, assigning, editing, and managing our blog content. They will need to be able to hold a monthly Zoom meeting (we have an account to use) and have the leadership skills to assign and assist writers in their articles. This person will also need strong editing skills, a moderate-high level of understanding of the abortion issue, and experience constructing arguments.
This person will need to be able to adapt to blog-style writing, support leadership and organizational goals, and coordinate alongside the social media team. They may also need to take on or delegate other small writing projects for the organization as they arise.
The time commitment is appx. 3-4 hr/week (more if desired), almost entirely on your own schedule.
If interested, please contact Jessica: jessica.spackman@prolifeutah.org
Writers (Multiple):
We are looking for multiple volunteers to join our writing team. Our writers write blog-style posts, news/stories about what Pro-Life Utah is doing, external opeds, and other content for our website and other various needs. These positions can be especially tailored to you and your commitment level and can easily be combined with another position.
If interested, please contact Jessica: jessica.spackman@prolifeutah.org
Social Media Volunteers (Multiple):
We need people who can give a commitment level and stick with it, but that commitment level and the specific area of social media use is largely up to you. We have needs for graphics creation, caption writing, post publishing, account management, video creation, and more. You may choose to work within one or more of our existing platforms, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, or help us create a presence on a new platform. (We aim to join Telegram and Pinterest as soon as possible.)
If interested, please contact Jessica: jessica.spackman@prolifeutah.org
New Mom Support Volunteers (Multiple):
This team leader will (primarily virtually) manage a small team of new mom support volunteers, or "mom mentors" (see below for details). This person is encouraged but not required to act as a new mom support volunteer. They will ensure proper training, support, and resources to each new mom support volunteer and help them meet up with an appropriate mother match.
If interested, please contact Jeremy: jeremy.lamont@prolifeutah.org
New Mom Support Volunteers (Multiple):
These new mom support volunteers (or “mom mentors”) are individuals who are able to jump in and connect with pregnant women who want to work with us to carry their baby to term and either adopt or parent. These moms need someone who can be a mentor, friend, and support to them throughout their pregnancies and, truly, for life. Mom mentors must have the mental and emotional stability to be a support when helping pregnant women face what are often heart-wrenching situations. Mom mentors must be willing to serve and minister with patience and love.
This position is one of the few that may involve in-person work. You may be required to meet the new mom for lunch with a Pro-Life Utah leadership member, for instance.
New mom support volunteers will most likely be called upon if they live on the Wasatch Front, but we are attempting to increase our ability to help women across the state. If you live far in southern Utah or northern Utah, you may still be a mom mentor, but it will be less likely we will need you often.
If interested, please contact Jeremy: jeremy.lamont@prolifeutah.org
Sidewalk Advocacy Materials Coordinator:
This person will support the sidewalk advocates (see below for details) in ensuring that they are supplied with the literature, gifts, gear, and other supplies to effectively serve women outside an abortion facility. This person must be able to track purchases/budget, communicate with sidewalk advocates, purchase the items they need, build blessing bags (gift bags for pregnant women), and deliver those supplies to the sidewalk advocates.
This person needs to live in/near the Salt Lake area (as they will need to physically deliver supplies to the advocates).
If interested, please contact Jeremy: jeremy.lamont@prolifeutah.org
Sidewalk Advocates (Multiple):
Pro-Life Utah works alongside the national group, Sidewalk Advocates for Life, to put out sidewalk advocates outside Planned Parenthood. Sidewalk advocates are not protesters; they peacefully stand outside abortion (and abortion-referral) facilities to pray, educate, minister, and love those who visit those facilities, with the main goal of helping women make a choice besides abortion. Sidewalk advocates receive professional training from Sidewalk Advocates for Life and never work alone.
This is one of the few positions that involves in-person work. Currently, we only have a presence outside Planned Parenthood Metro (the only Planned Parenthood facility in Utah that performs abortions), but if you live too far, we can still use you to build up a presence at an abortion-referral facility nearer to you.
If interested, please contact Jeremy: jeremy.lamont@prolifeutah.org
[POSITION FILLED] Small Events Coordinator:
As we recover from the pandemic, we plan on holding more frequent, smaller events across the state. We are looking for someone to help plan for, prepare for, and execute these events. This person should have project management abilities, be organized and reliable, and be able to work over and other volunteers.
If interested, please contact Kassandra: kassandra.berger@prolifeutah.org
