On a Tuesday morning, LeAnn Evans, a Mother’s Mentor for Pro-Life Utah, opened her phone to a new message. It was a link to a new country song, “I Was Gonna Be” by up-and-coming country artist Rachel Holt. LeAnn instantly connected deeply with the lyrics.

On a daily basis, LeAnn works with Pro-Life Utah to offer support to women who are considering abortion. Through this organization, LeAnn is able to offer financial support, free resources, and baby supplies as well as friendship, guidance, and emotional support that is critical to women facing unplanned pregnancies. She also works with Pro-Life Utah’s Mobile Ultrasound Clinic (a Mercedes Sprinter Van turned Ultrasound Clinic) that parks outside of Utah abortion facilities to offer free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds to would-be Planned Parenthood clients.

Through her work with Pro-Life Utah, LeAnn has supported dozens of abortion-minded women, many of whom have chosen life for their babies. On Tuesday morning, LeAnn was doing just that. After hearing Holt’s song, she immediately sent it to a woman who was considering abortion.

The text she sent read:
“Are you still wondering if abortion is the best option? A friend shared this music video with me just this morning. I wanted to share it with you to give you hope and purpose. I hope you know how strong and capable you are.”

After a few minutes, LeAnn received a response:

“Thank you so much for sending me that! It was what I needed to hear. Would I be able to schedule another ultrasound?”

Two days later, this mother chose life for her baby! 

When asked about the experience LeAnn said, “Most of the time I feel like I’m stumbling in my words and efforts.  I believe God set in motion the sequence on Tuesday.  It felt effortless and smooth—miraculous! 

LeAnn’s story is a testament to the power of compassion, hope, and the profound impact one person can have on another’s life. Every day, countless women face the daunting challenge of an unplanned pregnancy, and it is the support and love from mentors like LeAnn that make all the difference. Music, words of encouragement, and the unwavering belief in the strength of each woman can transform fear and uncertainty into a celebration of life.
